Under The Power Lines
We aren’t just designers and developers. We are political strategists who know how to win campaigns and understand how the Internet is changing every aspect of our lives.
Meet Our Team:
Our Strategy
At Under The Power Lines, we combine the best of cutting-edge Internet technology, with tested political strategies and we package it together with a clean and user-friendly design. Our goal is to understand your campaign’s specific needs and requirements so that we can provide you with a site tailor made to give you the greatest impact on the web. We want to ensure that the creative process results in a fully functional web experience for your viewers that translates net activity into votes and ultimately a successful campaign.
Many firms can create an attractive website. Others are familiar with the newest tech trends. The difference is simple; we understand the impact that new technologies and net-roots are having on campaigns and we know how to use them in an effective way. We have an award-winning track record of producing effective grassroots e-campaigns.
We do it by dividing the site building process into four categories:
Design – First impressions are important. Designing an appealing and clean site is a priority for us because no matter how good the content or how innovative the functions are, you must be able to draw a viewer into the site. We focus our design on striking a compromise between a clean uncluttered appearance and a usability that allows someone to navigate the site with ease to their desired location.
Tech Innovation – In the world of the web, technological innovations and trends evolve at a blistering pace. The trick is knowing the difference between the too. We pride ourselves in successfully implementing the most up to date and innovate tools available on the Internet. We are constantly brainstorming for new ways to use the hottest web technology to draw visitors into your site and most importantly turn those visitors into active supporters.
Functionality – We ask ourselves one critical question about every facet of your site: How does this help the campaign win? If we can’t answer that, we don’t do it. Not every new innovation or Internet advancement, has a practical application for a campaign. So we make sure to sort the useful tools from the frivolous gadgets. The less clutter on the site the better. And what works for one campaign may not work for another.
We customize our sites to fit a candidate’s personality and the campaign’s needs. Not every candidate needs twitter, (frankly some candidates need all the filtering they can get) but for some candidates that unfiltered, rapid fire of thoughts and ideas is the spark that can drive a real grassroots surge. We take the time to figure out how to best accent a candidate’s strengthens and mitigate weaknesses. And if it doesn’t bring money in the door, activate volunteers or win votes, there’s not much room for it on our sites.
Continuous Online Strategy – So you have a really cool site, then what. Unlike Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams, just because you build it, doesn’t mean they will come. Having a successful presence on the web is so much more than just having a great site. When we build the site we do so to compliment a greater online strategy of driving voters to that site, activating volunteers and raising money. We develop a plan to keep the content fresh so visitors keep coming back for more. We also focus on making the site three-dimensional, allowing visitors to use the site as a tool to interact with the candidate and the campaign on a regular basis.
Once we know we can keep the content fresh and interesting, we set out using e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Ning and other social networking tools to harvest visitors for the site. Using those mediums, we solicit contributions and recruit volunteers. We’re continually thinking of new ways to sign up activists and bring in new donors. In short our goal is to turn a campaign’s web presence into a campaign headquarters in every living room and office across the state.
